Jeremiahs Run is named after the stream in southern Virginia. Keith was driving along Route 340 trying to think of a name for the band, when he drove past a green sign with white lettering. The name seemed to fit.

The stream has its headwaters in what is now the Shenandoah National Forest and was named after one of the original settlers in the area who, along with his family and many other mountain people, was moved from his home to the valley by the government so that his confiscated land could become part of the National Forest. Jeremiahs Run has some of the best native trout fishing in the area and carves a beautiful and scenic route through the foothills of the Blue Ridge before it empties into the Shenandoah River near its intersection with Rt. 340 just south of Front Royal in Rileysville, VA. JR Campground is located here.
